November 29 You want how MUCH??????I'm doing grey today just because I'm well into my Mini Schnauzer search. I have leads on 2 possibles. One is near my parents house which would be great because I can stop by for a visit (then go back for Christmas) and it won't be so bad. I'm praying the lady won't call me before Saturday because if she calls, then she's sold the puppies. I can't very well take off and drive 3 hours to get a puppy. I don't think the state would appreciate that too much. The other lead is about $250 MORE than the first and they are closer to our house. I don't know about you but I'd rather save money. So if everything works out then I'm headed to Mom's this weekend to visit and get my puppy!!! I can't believe how hard it is to find these dogs. The price range is enormous!!!!!! I've seen them anywhere from 300 (those folks either have already sold them all or they aren't answering the phone/returning calls) to 800 dollars!!! For $800 I expect this dog to come with a diamond tiara, already housebroken and a comedy act. I find it hard to believe that a dog for $800 is better than one for $300. Sounds like some people are just in it to make money, let alone doing it for the "betterment of the breed". These people are obviously all about their dogs to the point they don't have jobs, they just sit around and pamper the dog, take the dog to a few shows and that's it. I'm just stunned at these people who so obviously over charge for pets. It's a rat race out there so I'm off to run another one. Take care!!! November 26 Onward we go~~Well, Thanksgiving has passed and we're on to Christmas!!!! Hubby is better and actually made it to work yesterday. I thought he'd NEVER leave! Talk about aching for some alone time. I'm feeling better as well. I'm headed back to work tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it. I got a lot of house cleaning finished the last few days, but I'm resigned to finishing it later. Hubby and I have begun our search for my Christmas present. We have decided to go forward with looking for a Miniature Schnauzer. I'm not TOO picky, but I'm looking for either a salt and pepper or a black and silver female. I'll let you know how it progresses. I'm almost finished with Christmas shopping. Mom's getting a DVD that hasn't come out yet (release date is 12/12/06) and Hubby's gift is something he said he wanted. I'm not telling anyone as some folks who read this could tell him. LOL I'm off to go finish watching one of my FAVORITE Christmas movies, "White Christmas". Take care!!!!!! November 16 Men are from the Twilight Zone!!!I've been feeling a rant coming along and last night it finally hit me. I have a few issues with Hubby that I just don't seem to understand. What is it with men and their uncanny ability to NOT be able to replace the toilet paper roll? It seems that EVERY time I go into the bathroom there is an empty toilet paper roll quietly napping on the holder. My hubby likes to HORD toilet paper like it's going to be rationed and yet he can't understand the concept of how to replace a roll. He will even go so far as to perch a NEW roll on top of the EMPTY roll but can't go that extra 2 seconds to just put the roll on the holder. For some reason, this is one skill that anyone can master except Hubby.
Hubby managed to irritate me last night to no end. He'll pile dishes up in the sink as high as you like, but he can't manage to put them into the dishwasher!!!!! If the dishwasher is full of CLEAN dishes, he'll get ONE pan or pot or bowl out but in NO WAY will he put away those dishes. If the washer is empty, he would rather take a bullet than put a dish into the dishwasher. What is it with men????
When it comes to laundry, hubby will help on occasion. He likes to take ALL of the clothes and put them in the washer at the same time. No separating the lights and darks, oh NO! Wash them all and save water! I nearly choked him when my white shirts started coming out with dark stains on them. Seems he was washing his yardwork clothes that have mud and clay on them (not to mention grass stains etc) with MY WORK CLOTHES!!!! Since I nearly went after him with a shovel, he decided that he would just leave the clothes to me. This is a fine idea, but then he has amnesia when it comes to washing his uniform. Like this grown man can't wash a shirt, socks, pair of BDU pants in the washer himself. OMG!!!!
I know men are supposedly from Mars when it comes to emotions and priorities, but I think their head moves to their rectum when it comes to some of the simplest tasks!!!!! I think men are just here to cause trouble and irritate women :) LOL Hugs, stay warm and take care!!!! November 10 Time after TimeI've been trying to figure out where the time goes. I just realized (duh!) that Thanksgiving is in less than 2 weeks!!!! Whew! Do you remember when you were a child and time seemed to take FOREVER? I remember thinking that the time between Halloween and Christmas seemed like a lifetime, but now, it just manages to go by in a blink of an eye. As we get older and realize that time is all relative, I believe that the older we get, the faster time passes. That and the fact that we get so busy as we get older that there never seem to be enough hours in the day to accomplish much.
The Da Vinci Code movie comes out on Tuesday. I must say that I've been anticipating this release since I first read the book over a year ago. I still have this book on my "Read again" list. I haven't had too much time to read much of anything bigger than a People Magazine lately. Hopefully, that will change after the first of the year. While you're out and about today, don't forget to thank a Veteran for what he or she has done for our freedom and country. If any of you are Veterans, let me be the first to thank you for ALL you've done for us all. Have a great weekend and take care!!!! November 09 A little update.....I'm having an absolute blast at work these days! I find things that need to be done or fixed and I'm allowed to do what I want. The Post Commander (Superboss) was told that the Troopers were going to be responsible for all Comp and Holiday leave. Knowing my Troopers this is just more paperwork for them, so I not only took on the task of handling all of the paperwork, but I'm also going back 1 year to make sure all the totals and such are accurate. Nothing like a little challenge to put me in good spirits. Superboss said that I had the patience of Job as he would NEVER be able to do something so tedious and painstaking. That says a lot about me, I guess, but I LOVE doing it. Maybe I have patience because I used to put together puzzles as a child and that really taught me. Even Hubby has commented that I am able to complete the most mundane things and not complain about it.
I'm looking forward to being off this weekend so I can get my house cleaned. I love relaxing work like cleaning. The only problem is that Hubby will be home so I can't clean in peace. Ahhhh well.... Take care!!! November 04 Baby it's cold outsideBrrrrrrr I woke up this morning and it was below 30 degrees again. The weather guy said it was going to be in the low to mid 20's overnight and I believe he was correct. Hubby woke me up at 7:30am to tell me he was headed to work. (uh, duh!!!!) Being an EMT also, he can't stay home and work! I'm a bit grouchy in the morning, can't you tell? I have so much work to tackle on Monday and I'm ready to get to it. My awesome boss didn't want me to get into the habit of taking work home. What a sweet guy!!!! Only problem is that my OCD tendencies are wanting to get started now since it's a fairly big project. Oh well, must obey the boss's orders. LMAO I'm going to try to relax this weekend and get my Halloween village put away. Then it's time to clean the kitchen so I can get the table ready for my new Christmas village pieces! Whoo Hoo! Sounds corny, I know, but I can't help it. I've also decided that I'm headed home for Christmas. Mom really wants her "baby" to be there and Hubby is working so I had opted to just wing Christmas solo for the first time EVER! I'm too much of a family person. I can't be alone on Christmas!!!! So, I've decided that I'm going to head out early Christmas AM and trek 3 hours north and surprise my parents Christmas morning. I just feel that at this point in time I need to be with my family more. I can't believe I'm actually going to do this, but then again, why not!?! I haven't told anyone of my plan yet except that I mentioned it a little to Hubby. I know they'll be home too because Mom's playing hostess to my sister and niece. This is just too exciting for me! Hugs to you all, take care and STAY WARM!!! |
